They agreed that relating the complex solution and the graph throughout the entire lesson was beneficial and helpful. They thought that this would be good because students would be able to see the connection between the graph and the solution. They also agreed that the exploration of the meaning of i was helpful and including the calculator in that would help show students see the value of i. At the time ____, there was a pause and I was unsure where what I wanted to do next. This to me shows that I was not as well prepared for my lesson as I intended to be. Also at times _____ and _____, there were times when I asked a question and students did not answer or said correct information but not what I was working on. Therefore, I would want to work on my precision of words and being more specific on the types of questions I asked. Along with that I would want to use more precise language during my lesson. For example at ____ time, I asked Helen “ “. Then Helen hesitated and I had to scaffold her through to the answer. This was an example of when my question wasn’t as precise as I wanted. Throughout the entire lesson, I would use informal terms that are not appropriate when I am instructing. For my next lesson I want to work to focus on correct language and saying the right terms during my lesson. I can see that it would be confusing if I mixed my words up for students who already maybe confused during the lesson. At ___ time, I explained imaginary numbers. I did not think that this was the best way to explain it.
