The primary and most vital element of UNIT 1 reading is making a habit of reflection. As in daily mundane, sometimes project managers gets so much involved in problem solving and conflict resolutions that, he does not pay enough time to reflect. Which not only helps him develop on the personal level but also helps him plan for futuristic issues and problems, in his professional career. With the aid of self-reflection, he starts to think and see things from different spectrum altogether. Once conditions are favourable or once a decision is made to go ahead with the project, then the first step in engineering is to do the engineering gap analysis. Then it is checked that all the standards and codes used for the project are according to current norms, rules, and standards. Analysis and observations get generate regarding the gaps/differences, and they are rectified/modified or changed with new codes and standards prevalent in the industry at that time.
After completing the managerial role gap analysis, I can say that though my role as a spokesperson is not much at present, still I would need to improve on this skill, after reading through this unit has revealed very clearly that as head of a team, I represent my whole team/group especially when it comes to meetings, announcements, and presentations to other higher level management and external stakeholders as well as shareholders. Since I act as final information distributor for them, So I will improve my presentations skills and at the same time I would work on my liaison and networking techniques to improve.
