Previously, students of all schools had had to study Russian. So, I remember how proud I felt when that opportunity was given to me. Although I struggled with understanding English and learning new vocabulary words for the next three years, all of nowhere, when I started high school, I just began to understand the rules of English and English itself more and more. I wanted to become an English as a Second Language teacher and therefore I decided to study English. During my undergraduate degree, I studied all aspect of British English: grammar, reading, writing, linguistics, etc. so when I arrived to the U.S.A. my reading and writing English was advanced, I had huge problems with speaking because of the language barrier and having few real life opportunities to practice the language, as well as understanding different accents.
