We watch TED Talks (there are two in particular that are my favorite and if you have the time to watch them I highly recommend doing so: 1) Sir Ken Robinson’s Do Schools Kill Creativity? – it is by far the most watch TED Talk ever and helps to remind me that taking my sons creative interests and using them to educate him is by far the best thing I have done for his education. 2) Logan LaPlante’s Hackschooling Makes Me Happy – This is Evan’s favorite because he likes the concept of using things that interest him as a means to get an education). We have days where we just make science experiments. Evan loves science experiments and if we 're being honest here - I do too! He creates items in Minecraft that we learned about in our school day (trust me, this one is a great tool) and we use it daily. This year, we added Minecraft to our school day. Whatever we learn about on a daily basis gets created in his Minecraft home school world. It allows him to play Minecraft, create, and it also allows him to remember what we learned about in our day. When we learned about volcanoes, he created one in Minecraft. When we learned about geography, he created the earth.
