Their religion was based on merely traditions. One tradition that was highly believed in is called Divine Kingship. Divine Kingship is the belief that the pharaoh was one of the gods. Politically, he is said to have immense power and would help the Egyptians in the afterlife. Since the Nile flooded every year at a consistent time it was not hard convincing the Egyptian that the pharaoh made it happen. Using this natural occurrence to obtain power, architecture was found. The king's advisor of the Old kingdom by the name of Imhotep was asked to build a tomb in order to connect with the gods. This tomb was the first pyramid. One pharaohs after another began to build their own. The great pyramid was built under the north star due to the fact that they believe it will guide them to the afterlife. The Yangzi river, in south China is known as "China's blessing" due to the fertile soil. The north river called the Yellow River was commonly known as "china's sorrow" where harsh climates can be found. As stated above, China had a great deal of fertile soil; which made farming crucial in the south. Agriculture became so common that tools were invented to increase the production process. A guy named Shennong invented the basic tools, while Huangdi invented boats for trading. Similar to India, China's economy also had a disadvantage because half of the land was covered by the Gobi desert and Tibet plateau. Initially, the geography of a continent generates cultural differences. Humans are constantly adapting to their climates and making use of their resources.
