The METERIC Data Mart was used to record the data values for demographic data, cardiovascular, hemodynamic, and pulmonary variables. The continuous data values were taken and then a 24-hour median were calculated. There was a manual validation that was done in order to calculate the five different percentage values at each extreme of the range. The results of the study calculated continuous and categorical data from the Wilcoxon, chi-square, or Fisher exact test, depending on which method would best represent the rescue techniques and subjects. First, the study was considered a retrospective study because the study was looking at data from 2005-2010. Second, there was both continuous and categorical data included in the study.
