Although it was near WWII when Robert Frost wrote the poem, it’s not compatible for the reason of the poem. In the original poem in stanza three line two it phrases “The world will end for man”, but it doesn’t say anything about animals. My usumption is that he is trying to say humans will slowly just bring each other down and end the world ourselves instead of natural causes. In the outsiders the meaning is different and instead leans toward to the fact that everything good soon has an ending.

Our first character we are introduced to is Nature. Nature isn't a person, but rather symoblising life. Our second character is Eden, which refers to the Earth ending.

Nothing Gold Can Stay is an obvious reality and talk about real life situations.
The reader may feel sad will reading this poem, because it has to do with sad loss in his life and the end of the world. The poets tone is serious because he is in was 50's and wouldn't joke about the end of the world. The poet has this tone because at the time he had written this, he had lost 2 children, both his parents, and his closest friend. So it would make sense that he would be sad and writing about grief and change after loss.
