In this documentary, it starts off with the Ring of Fire. This consist of 75% of the world's volcano which is 452. The Ring of Fire is 25,000 miles all around, mostly shaped like a horse shoe. Volcanoes can have different way of how the lava runs. Dr. shows comparing to honey and peanut butter with how the lava can run down the volcano. The lava builds us over the side of the mountain. The doctor also explains that the lava can be very thick that it hold pressure. The pressure being gas, it gets trap and eventually it just blows. The pressure is so much, it has to release. Being unpredictable, it is very dangerous. When the lava is released, it can flow up to 100 mph and nothing can stop this heated avalanche. Hornblende lava is found mostly deep under the ground and is created with water. Blocky Lava is from thick magma that traps gases in the volcano which causes it to explode. Scientist have gone to Mount Lassen to which is in Northern California, they take samples of the gases to discover the source of the water that creates lava. Testing gases from most of the volcanoes in the Ring of Fire, scientist have discovered that there is Carbon 12, which comes from living organisms. This source of organism is …show more content…
About 90% of the world's earthquakes happens within the Ring of fire. Scientist go to Prince William Sound to investigate a disaster that happened in 1964 in Alaska. Looking at evidence of how geologically active the area is, boulders and many other types of rocks are found. This meaning that the area has had many earthquakes and eruptions. The boulders have been moved by waves of the ocean.Going in towards the island, the scientist found more boulders about half a mile in. Seeing those boulder evidently pushed by waves, the land has moved. Where the boulders were seen in towards the island, that is where the shore used to line, the it moved due to the earth's crust moving and
