Bob is an average joe who wants to become famous. He decides the way he wants to do this is by making music. Where does he start? Well first he needs a way to write that music. Bob could spend hours tirelessly slaving over a piece of work on paper, or he could get a DAW. DAWs are amazing pieces of art that allow music making on computers. Now, Bob goes online and finds out just how many DAWs exist in the world - really the amount is immense; the way Bob will go about finding the right DAW depends purely on his preference and budget. If Bob has a large budget, he may go for an expensive DAW such as FL studio(my personal favorite), but there are still plenty of cheap DAWs such as Studio One.

Creating the track can be an extremely daunting task. There’s so many things to think about. How is the track supposed sound? How long is it? What instruments to use? How many instruments to use? The list goes on and on. The way I tackle it is by breaking the song into small tiny bite sized pieces and going from there. I usually start with the chord progression, and go from there. A chord is simply a group of notes played together, and a chord progression is a sequence of chords played over and over.
