Corruption is a downfall in a belief, idea, or society. During this time, Macbeth was one of the most popular tragedy’s. During one of the plays a real knife was placed instead of a fake and the person who played Duncan was really murdered. In the tragedy, Macbeth, Shakespeare uses Macbeth’s sinister actions to display how sin apprehensively corrupts humanity. Macbeth is trustworthy to the king until he commits a sin that he could not take back. Macbeth has just been named Thane of Cawldor. King Duncan will be coming over to Macbeth’s castle. Before Macbeth kills Duncan he is planning how to kill him and get away with it. As Macbeth is planning, ”I go, and it is done: the bell invites me. Hear it not, Duncan, for it is a knell That summons thee to heaven, or to hell’’(Shakespeare 2.2.70-72). Macbeths would not have done his sinister action if he would’ve backed out of it. This quote displays how Macbeth could have avoided all of that trouble he caused. Macbeth is a traitor who has killed many people before he attempts to kill Macduff. Macbeth has killed Young Siward and stumbles upon Macduff. As Macbeth and Macduff are fighting, “Before my body I throw my warlike shield : Lay on, Macduff , And damn’d be the him that first cries, “’ Hold enough!”(Shakespeare 5.8.35). If Macduff had not fought Macbeth and defeated him, Macbeth would have worked his way up to kill Malcom.
