First, females all over were fighting for the right to vote which they were eventually granted with in 1920 by the Nineteenth Amendment. Divorce was made easier and the number of divorces doubled. Females who were afraid of leaving their husbands finally had the confidence/more easily granted rights to walk away. Women believed that the prohibition act would solve problems in the household. The prohibition act was put into motion in 1920. Women also worked towards reform on property laws, equal guardianship of their children, improved working conditions, equal pay, and access to higher education (Reid). Although a large percentage of women didn’t go to college, they were still involved in governments at the local, state, and national level
