Although he had never completely adapted to piracy, and had kept his chivalry, even his reputable attitude began to diminish when he was marooned on the island by his crew. 3 years alone on the island, lead to benn gunn exchanging his estimable manner for mental insanity. Loyalty is a behavioral aspect that pirates gain in order to become successful and unharmed. However, Long John Silver, an important leader in treasure island, abandons his loyalty to his crew and the crew on the Hispaniola. Even though Silver deceives the crew on the Hispaniola, or his pretend? Crew, he also deceives his actually crew by disregarding their needs, and manipulating them by his prominence and intimidation. “Flint his own self feared me” is one of the many quotes where silver reiterates his prominence. Furthermore, silver shows more disobeyance of loyalty as he talks about his respected previous captain, Flint, in a harsh, bitter, and a rebelling way.
