Right from the start of the piece, during the first movement, I picture myself surrounded by the power of nature. A beautiful forest filled with life, flowers blooming, rivers flowing, birds soaring all around me, the wind blowing through the grass and the sky shinning in a beautiful bright translucent blue. The force so strong I am enveloped by the water and soon I am far beneath it. I am struck with fear and push for surface and eventually come to the realization that I can breathe under water. I swim through the oversized streams and eventually reach the ocean through the current. The ocean full of life, the fish swirl all around me and I am filled with a sense of adventure. I follow the fish and swim through the caves, caverns, I see the remains of abandoned ship-wrecks that remain forever trapped in the water, forever protected from the outside world, preserved in time. I drift inside one and witness the past. The materialistic presence of a time forgotten and the sadness of the lives that had been lost much too soon. Eventually, I find the current enveloping me and leading me further and further along the sea, I feel warmer and the light becoming brighter and I can finally see the shore. I reach the beach and lay on the sand staring up into the sky breathing in the fresh surface air and embracing the beauty that nature has shown me, even in its darkness, light finds its way, spreads.
