915417794 Sexual Diferences What factors can influence a persons sexuality? Each person has their own unique sexual orientation. Using Gay, Straight, and The Reason Why, a book by Dr. LeVay and Genetic and Environmental Effects on Same-sex Sexual Behavior, an article from the Archives of Sexual Behavior, the reason why people have sexual differences can vary based on environmental factors and biological influences that are unique to each individual. According to LeVay adolescent boys are attracted to toys that are mechanical toys rather then faces like women (Levay 2011: 77). In straight men the cluster is bigger then those of gay men. This biological factor shows that there is a difference of the brain structures between the two sexual orientations in men. The hypothalamus regulates male sexual actions (LeVay 20011: 195). The size difference in the hypothalamus straight males and gay males could be a genetic variation that effects the sexuality of males. Every older brother a man gets increases his likelihood by thirty-three percent for each older sibling (LeVay 20011: 255). The studies have shown the first two brothers do not have as much of an effect as the third and fourth brothers (LeVay 20011: 256).
