The Shawnee tribe mainly populated Northeast areas such as Ohio and Indiana. Their culture was based on a village lifestyle where farming and hunting were done by the men of the tribe while the women focused on household chores and took to pottery. The homes were round in shape and were made out of natural products such as grass and pieces of tree bark creating wigwams which are domed shaped huts. In the 1740’s when the French migrated on to Shawnee territory they joined forces and became allies in hopes of defending their land
