He would do anything to get a pair of blue suede shoes but the story suggests he is living in poverty. Child poverty is a very real issue that occurs all around the world. The Hockey Sweater Both
The Hockey Sweater is a small town in Quebec in which all of the residents are huge Montreal Canadiens fans. The kids of the town are always on the ice with Montreal Canadiens sweaters but the main character Roch’s sweater has been ripped and had to wear a Toronto Maple Leafs sweater which was not accepted with the other kids. This story is in both categories because the main character, Roch, is challenged by being forced to wear a sweater with the Montreal Canadiens rival team, the Toronto Maple Leafs. While Roch is not happy with his sweater, his mother talks him through wearing it because if they send it back it would seem like they are sending a disrespectful message to the sender of the sweater. It also falls into the reality and dreams category by is a representation of bullying because Roch was being discriminated for wearing a different teams colour. Even though he agrees with the other kid's views, he has been trained that he is not allowed to like any other type of sports teams. This leads to a mindset where nothing else but their favourite team is socially
