The translator made grammatical, syntactic and semantic changes due to the different structure of languages. Firstly, the word “trick” is translated with “stebuklas”. It is possible to use the literal translation of “trick”, but, in this case, it would sound rather odd in Lithuanian. Secondly, the structure of the sentence is changed in order to maintain fluency of the TT. Finally, a complex sentence in the ST is changed into a conditional sentence in the TT. This type of sentence is expressed in Lithuanian by using a verb in the subjunctive mood. From the joke, one can understand, that Donkey always talks, and it is doubtful that he will ever be silent. Moreover, animals are not able to talk unless there is magic involved. All these aspects were conveyed in the dubbed version, and the meaning of the joke has been
