Silver Linings Playbook is about a struggling man, Pat Solitano Jr., portrayed by Bradley Cooper. The movie begins with Pat leaving a mental institution with his mother, the movie then flashes back to when he finds his wife, Nikki, sleeping with another man. After seeing this, Pat gets infuriated and beat the man Nikki was with until he was nearly dead. Obviously, this is how ended up in the mental institution; Pat also has a restraining order preventing him from being within 500 feet of her.
While he is on a run, he encounters his friend, Ronnie, who invites him to dinner at his wife, Veronica’s, request. He arrives at dinner later that week and he is told Veronicas sister, Tiffany, was also invited. They seemingly have a lot in common after bonding over the medication they both have taken at the dinner table. For example, a sports fanatic could relate to the pressures that Pat Sr. feels every time an Eagles game is on, or someone with a mental health disorder could relate to this movie and even figure out coping mechanisms which are spewed throughout this narrative. Seeing this movie and investing time into learning about it and not being able to relate to it in some way would shock me. This is a good movie, the storyline is interesting and keeps the viewers on their toes. The camera’s shots were perfect; they were appealing to the eye while at the same time captured every emotion the characters
