Simone de Beauvior, a writer, intellectual, and philosopher once stated the following: “Change your life today. Don’t gamble on the future, act now, without delay.” In other words, Simone is saying that not taking advantage of opportunities to change for the better may lead to dire consequences. In comparison, the novel A Christmas Carol’s main character is a man who desperately needs to change, or he will face nasty repercussions. He must make a choice: change, or remain stubborn and stuck in his old ways. During the course of A Christmas Carol, amid the supernatural visitations, Scrooge is able to reflect upon the man he was, is, and wants to be, and he comes to realize that it’s never too late to change.
