The six general categories of criminal law violations range from the treason to simple offenses such as a parking ticket. In the following report, I will attempt to explain the different categories of criminal law violation, the feature of each crime.
Criminal law violations are divided into six major categories and listed in order of severity as followed. Treason: The act of treason is covered in the US Constitution Under Article III, Section 3, it is the act of betraying one’s country by attempting to overthrow the government, to levying war against the state or by giving its enemies aid, comfort …show more content…
The first additional principle is causation, this principle is tied to the civil aspect of law and refers to the notion that the accused committed the act and it was that act that caused damages to be incurred by the victim.
The second principle is Harm; it must be proven that someone was harmed in the commotion of the act even if the victim being harmed is deemed society.
The third additional principle is Punishment. The fundamental aspects of punishment state a crime cannot have been committed if there is no stated punishment for the crime.
The fourth additional principle to be considered is Necessary Attendant Circumstances or the facts surrounding the event.
The last additional principle is that of Legality, as it cannot be illegal to commit an act that no law prohibits. And therefore if a law is create banning an act from occurring and you have committed that act prior to the new legislation you cannot be held liable for that
