My parents moved us to California for numerous reasons, one in particular, as Rebecca M. Black Secretary of Economic Affairs stated in her article Middle Class in America, “they [wanted better] economic opportunities for [us and] want to provide [us] with a college education” (1). They wanted to find a way for my siblings and me to better ourselves and they concluded that moving to America in “the pursuit of the American dream” was the answer.
