However, early adulthood can be challenging. The person at this stage where they just t graduated from high school and is determining to take the next step in their life. Some individuals are attending college or gaining a full-time job. They are many factors that a young adult can phase maturity, age, and to know how ready a person is for these responsibilities.
In early adulthood ages 18–40, “our physical abilities are at their peak” (). Meaning as the young adults start to grow older and have more responsibilities, it starts to become harder for them to maintain their health with their new roles of family and parenting. They start to put more time into their family, children and careers and less time in exercise and sports. According to Arnett, most of the adults between ages 18-34 do not have insurances. Not having insurance means that their hospital visits will be very costly. With the new Affordable Care Act, adults are now covered under their parent 's insurance until the age of 26.However there are some that still do maintain active, many may be in sports, participate in classes such as yoga or boot camp.During this stage of their life, many adults are at risk for other health factors such as unprotected sex, which could lead to transmitted infections like STD or HIV. According to Carrasco, Bernal and Ridotto “ young adult identities have focused on two dimensions, subjective age, and psychosocial maturity”)Carrasco, Bernal & Redolat 2001, pg 1). In another word a young adult identity is a subjective age, meaning is the constructed through interaction with others and their contexts. Subjective age is not chronological determine. Identity is viewed how someone views or identify their age. For example like I am 22 years old, but I perceive myself if I was 30 because I have a kid and I am married, and my focus has dinner ready and take care of my baby and my friends who are in their twenties think of partying and clubbing. Not is identity link to subjective age but also the social status and role of transition, for example, full-time job and being a parent.
