The articles covered different CMC formats and results varied according to the format studied. Privacy was a cost for both Facebook and blogging formats but Facebook posts were more random and may not lead to offline relationships. Individuals that publicized their blogs with their identity were more likely to have offline relationships with a deeper level of self-disclosure. When you are constantly on your computer or phone reading statuses, you are missing out of loving conversations with your family. We have to change this by setting aside time to spend with family. This change can save relationships with friends, family, and even people you barely know. I find myself not using Facebook or social media sites too often, because I do not see too much value in them, besides keeping in touch with certain family or friends. We need to apply this information about the social penetration theory, because with the constant use of social media sites, we are becoming “onions” that have these layers of security. If this use of social media continues at this level, communicating in person will be obsolete in the future. That is not something that I personally would enjoy, because it takes away the whole aspect of body language and facial expressions that can change a conversation for the better or even
