Hashtags are commonly used to identify specific topics, words and phrases. It 's quite disturbing when you come across a hashtag, that singles out a specific race. Commonly there have been hashtags which state “ #BlackPeopleBeLike or #WhitePeopleBeLike” and many other races, and the question is why? These are very popular amongst Instagram and Vine. Users act a certain way and claim the characteristics are of a certain race. For instance, it could be a situation like a white woman in the store with her kids and they are asking for everything they see. She responds yes gets them everything they wanted. On the other hand, a black woman is in the store and her kid also is asking for things and she responds by flipping out , cursing and telling them “No”. These are the kind of serials which they hashtag #BlackPeopleBeLike or #WhitePeopleBeLike. In reality, it 's not always true white mom’s always say yes or that black moms always say no. On an everyday basis, people make inaccurate rude social media post about each and every race just for laughs. It 's extremely disrespectful. Although these stereotypes are joked upon they aren 't very funny towards the races they offend. Last but not least, Facebook and Twitter. In today 's common households Facebook is for the older crowd and twitter is for the younger crowd. The media is the heart of the spread of stereotypical viewpoints. Education is key and to be taught media literacy, students may be able to enhance the positive media influence of exposure to non stereotypical rather than the negativity of media depictions on social groups. For years now, American culture has been involved in an endless battle over diversity and inclusion, from corporate boardrooms to Hollywood and the devices we all carry in our hands. Our favorite entertainment sources don 't always provide positive entertainment. What 's funny to us about another race, can be hurtful to those of that decent. Stereotypes are all around and it is up to us to put an end to it to improve American
