School administrators and student supportive staff (i.e. school psychologist) must be able to not only fascinate student’s academic achievements but also provide them with an environment that provides each student with a safe and accepting environment to flourish in (Dessel, 2010). A child develops by being able to organize the world cognitively by modeling, classification, reinforcements, similar to the cognitive developmental theory and social learning theory. Which would help explain how negative perceptions of others including prejudice, stereotyping, and discrimination may develop (Bigler and Liben, 1992).
