Sojourner Truth is one of the toughest women. She took a stand for what she believed in and then gave a speech that made her famous. She was born into slavery but escaped with her daughter in 1826. She gave her speech in May of 1851 and gave the speech at the Ohio women's right convention in Akron.
Sojourner Truth was the first black woman to win a case against a white man. She was beaten everyday by a violent farmer. She only speaks dutch when she was sold to John Neeley. She married a slave name Thomas and
