Act I/ Song I
To represent act 1 in Macbeth I chose the song “I Want It All” by Queen. The reason why I chose this song is because in Act I, Scene/ iii, Macbeth says” Two truths are told, as happy prologues to the swelling.” (Line128, P. 330) Macbeth is saying that two of the three prophecies for him have come true. He is beginning to become greedy for power. In the song the singer says” I want it all…it ain’t much I’m asking.” This is stating that they want it all. All the power, wealth, and greed that comes with it.

The reason that I chose this song is because in act V, scene viii Macduff says “My voice is my sword, thou bloodier villain than terms can give thee out!”(Line 6, P. 412). It is saying, my sword will talk for me. You are too evil for words! In the song, the singer says no voice of mercy-no evangels of light. He is saying that he will not show mercy to them. This is the same with Macduff because Macbeth sent people to kill the family of Macduff he showed no mercy to them. Inn return Macduff will show no mercy to Macbeth. In the same act and scene, Macduff kills Macbeth ending the tyranny that plagued the land (Line 34,
