I have found significant problems with the types of companies we are in contracts with. Lunch is currently 50 minutes long; juniors and seniors are allowed to leave campus. This gives students time to leave campus to get lunch at places such as McDonalds, Subway and the local convenient stores. Often times the upperclassmen bring food back to the lower classmen as well. The following numbers are based off the sign out sheets in the office. About 80% of the upperclassmen currently leave campus to get food elsewhere. And about 50% of the lowerclassmen either bring food from home or they have fellow classmates bring them lunch. The reason for this is that the meals simply are not enticing students to stay. While a large number of the students do qualify for free or reduced lunches, about 30% do not. That is 30% of students that could be purchasing school lunches but instead are going off campus. Even students that qualify for the free and reduced lunches, avoid eating the cafeteria
