Coaches need to inspire athletes and set up the right conditions for learning. Successful and effective coaches have many skills. They are good communicators and have a working knowledge of the learning and teaching processes, training principles, and review procedures related with their sport. These skills allow a coach to not only be a teacher but a friend and mentor.
