Beowulf is shown in the story as an amazing hero. At first Grendel is described as “the creature of evil, grim and fierce, and was quickly ready, savage and cruel, and seized from the first thirty thanes.” (Norton Anthology) Beowulf shows bravery when Grendel is looked at like a demon. Some people may feel sympathy for him. heorot is a symbol of the victory of thanes. (Beowulf) After Grendel had suffered, he started to be a someone that is different from others.
