This is because the batch code has different meanings. The batch code will represent the date it was made. It is important to use earlier batch codes first because some of the product needs to be sold before it expires and goes to waste. The batch code also needs to be correct because if there is a problem it is traced back by the batch code. If the wrong batch is in the product someone else might get the blame when it really wasn 't there fault. Scraped in the powder are not acceptable. A lot of the powder is assembled in machine assembly lines. The machines should have a poka-yoke installed with in it. There should be a scanner the scans for marks before and after the powder is placed in the compact. By having scanners before the powder is placed in the compact if there is a scratch in one it can skip the powder and move on the the next one without wasting a compact. For powered that has marks after being inserted, the will be placed in a reject tray and thus can be fixed on the spot by a line attendant. Then if too many are sent off in a row the machine will stop and have to have a mechanic come over and look at it.
