It is no myth that men are considered more powerful than women in the work force. One factor that creates their power is the way men speak. When men speak according to Deborah Cameron, “Men are more successful in the workplace, so if women want to emulate their success, the trick is to mimic their behaviour”. The only problem that may evolve in this is that in today’s society, men are seen as dominant and strong when they are able to prove a point. It is the opposite for women. Though it is wrong, a woman that is able to prove a point and be independent in today’s society is ultimately seen as a “bitch” or less than.
