In the film viewers could see that even though Marie was upset that she had to give away her pay to care for her family, she still gave the money to help support them. I believe that the director made most of his scenes relatable, and did a splendid job with building up the frustration of Maria that eventually led her to quitting her job. For example; when Maria announced to her mother and sister that she quit her job, questioned her reasons for do so, and little attention to her reasons as to why she quit. At this point in the film, i also questioned why would she quit knowing most of the family did depend on her financially. I would believe that Maria would want to feel secure knowing that she have a job, than not knowing where the next pay check would be coming from, especially if you have reasons to believe you are about to become a
