The main issue about this approach is that it is quite mechanical. The idea of this approach is that all human inputs an information based on our environment, process this information and then outputs a behaviour.Critics made suggests that first of all, that theory compares humans to computer and that there is a distinction between both as human express feelings and emotions and computers don’t. A critic has been made by Skinner where he believes that the only external stimuli should be studied and should be measurable. The mental process between the input and the output does not exist as it cannot be measured and seen.A humanistic psychologist, Carl Rogers believes that the use of cognitive experiments have a low ecological validity and it creates an artificial environment due to the controls over variables.
