Recently, I have noticed a lot of talk about “tax returns” from my fellow students. To those whose parents are in charge of filing our taxes, tax season means finally receiving money back from our taxes. Many of us fail to acknowledge the amount of stress that is involved in budgeting and managing our finances in order to smoothly file our taxes. This is something we will all have to learn to manage, and some handle it better than others. I think this is an important thing to discuss with young people, before they start filing their own taxes, this way they can tackle them with ease. In class we discussed how stress could alter an individuals lifestyle. It can effect our eating habits, our heart health, and even our mental health. For myself, I realize that financial stress could take a huge toll on my life. My parents support me financially, therefore I know if I need to borrow money they will always be there to fall back on. However, this stability is not something I plan to rely on forever. I personally believe that I, along with many others my age, have a hard time seriously budgeting our money because we know we can rely on someone else to support us. However, educating our selves in the matter, will make managing our finances on our own, that much more stress free, which will over all lead to a healthier life
