Ungar’s article is slant more toward liberal arts degree, while Reich’s article is more about community colleges and difficulties of liberal arts degree to afford. Ungar uses examples and experiences to support his ideas in the argument. He states, “A 2009 survey for the Association of American Colleges and Universities actually found that more than three-quarters of our nation’s employes recommended that college bound students pursue a “liberal education” (192). These statistics support his rational background for his argument. Furthermore, he mentions his research on percentage of community skills for students and their creativeness. Although, Reich suggests that community colleges are being more successful and suitable. As community colleges provide more opportunities of success for students and help them to get good jobs.
