One main reoccurring concept that was studied this quarter was the concept of feminism. Women were granted few rights in the early 1900’s, but since then, there has come many people who made a difference, whether we noticed it in a play, a story, different women, or news articles. During the 1900’s, women did not have the same amount of rights that we have today. They were suppressed in many of the actions they wanted to do. These aspects included activisms, books, newspapers, change in ideologies, and most importantly-literature. Stories such as The Story of an Hour, plays such as A Doll’s House, and much more had influenced greatly.

Anthony. She spoke many times in lectures in front of the people around her. Throughout her life span, as well as having written and lectured about 75-100 speeches. Susan would travel to different countries to speak, however, many of her speeches that she had written and given were in the US. She was the founder of the National Women’s Suffrage Association, (NWSA) in 1869, and was also founded by Stanton. In the year 1860, petitions were being handed out to women who were standing with the movement. She was told that she was to rely on her husband to the point where she had to ask if she was allowed to eat macaroons. The concept of her having to raise the money so she can pay back the loaner was in a sense, odd. We notice that in the book, she would write down news articles or writings of some sort that had allowed her to make an allowance. She would copy papers and papers, and that was how she made a living at the time. She had to get passed the tough times, even though her husband was working, she also had to make some type of profit that would adequately work with her everyday life and clandestine that she was
