Foundation of the Vedic culture emanates from the philosophy and science of Yajï. Yajï is the perennial symbol of this divine culture (Pandya, 2009b). The Sanskrat word ‘Yajïa’ etymologically means ‘to worship’, ‘to unite or connect’, ‘to do charity unconditionally (däna ) in right manner to the deserved. Gayatri and Yajïa are described as the pillars of Indian philosophy and culture. The four vedas signify the philosophy of the eternity and absolute complementary role of Gayatri Yajï in the divine creation (Joshi, 2010).

Stresses can be external (from the environment, psychological, or social situations) or internal (illness, or from a medical procedure). Stress can initiate the fight or flight response a complex reaction of Neurological and endocrinology systems. Chronic psychological stress is associated with detrimental effects on physical health (Puterman et al., 2010). Despite widespread public belief that psychological stress leads to disease, the biomedical community remains sceptical of this conclusion. Stress contributes to a variety of disease (Cohen, Janicki-Deverts, & Miller, 2007). In response to stress, the brain activates several neuro peptide-secretion (Kloet, Joëls, & Holsboer, 2005). The powers of music to regulate and change emotional states are found in each culture. ‘Music and stress’’ produces promises for different types of music specially designed to assist man- aging stress. Music therapists are familiar with using different techniques to reduce stress with different populations. This paper examines both the application of music to stress management and the neurological and physiological mechanisms of stress that can be modulated by music (Yehuda, 2011).
