Pearce and Nair (2015) agreed that blood pressure is the pressure exerted by blood
within the blood vessel. The systolic blood pressure is when the heart contracts and
diastolic when the heart relaxes (Timby 2009, p 199). In addition to this, Miller ( 2010, p
4 - 5) states normal systolic blood pressure is 120 mmHg and diastolic 80 mmHg.
