The following report describes the activities carried out during the 120 hours internship at the Taurus law Group. For many years now, large majority of states have enacted laws to restrict tort lawsuits in response to problems related to insurance. Also, the in the book the “Wrong of tort”, the author brought up Professor Patrick Atiyah great idea of a total reform of the tort system and rather the use of money involve in tort to improve a social security and services benefits. This structure will be in charge to allocate funds directly to plaintiffs. Such system will help to avoid direct relationship between both parties which will limit the amount of frivolous lawsuits within the system.

The only way to fix problems in our actual tort system is not to limit the amount of money that a party can get, it’s rather to use that money efficiently. The federal government has to take long term solutions to address issues in the current tort system. We can’t count on states to address these issues because states legislators often prioritize individual group’s interests rather than the population needs. The federal government should act otherwise nothing will change.
