Technology has continuously grown over the years, unaware that it is also giving us more things to be distracted by when we are driving. Mostly anyone would tell you a text isn't worth a life. Then why do they still proceed to simultaneously text and drive, continuously risking it all? Some people just have that important message where they have to reply at that very moment, others might do it because they think they can manage simple multitasking, and some are just stubborn and want to rebel. Fifty-five percent of young drivers say that it’s easy to text while driving. These statistics are unfortunately showing us how much those who think they can text and drive are putting those who are innocent bystanders at risk because they are distracted and unaware of the road.
In conclusion, texting and driving produces accidents, injuries, and death. Modern technology has everyone, all ages, hooked on using it 24/7. Losing a loved one over a text, phone call, or snapchat, is not worth it, nor are the lives of others nearby. Precautions of texting and driving should be taken more
