Leadership is an important part of how an organization will function. The right leader will have followers that will work with the leader to achieve the organizations desired goals by using different leadership theories. This paper will explain the concepts of behavioral theory within my organization as well as the traits and characteristics of an effective leader.
Behavioral theories of leadership are based upon the belief that great leaders are made not born. This leadership theory focuses on the actions of leaders not on mental qualities or internal states. (Leadership Theories, 2014)

A transformational leader is a leader that moves, motivates and inspires there followers in order to create a positive change within the organization. A transformational leader is responsible for strategic planning and also has the ability to maintain a steady work environment for its followers. Transformational leadership consists of several characteristics such as idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration. Our leader displays all these characteristics through our daily work by displaying a clear vision, instilling trust, and giving personal attention to each employee individually. It tells people where you want to be and what you want to be doing, the vision is the goal all the employees will be working towards, it should be clear and concise with no confusion. Once the vision is set the mission and strategy will then need to be set. The mission is similar to the vision it tells people what the organization is about. The strategy will show how the organization plans on achieving the desired goals and vision.
The vision, mission and strategy of an organization are supported by the leadership role in many ways. The leader will collaborate with other team members to develop the each part of the vision, mission and strategy. The leader will ensure that each part is being followed throughout the organization and that all employees support the organizations vision and reach the goals.
Being a leader is a hard thing, it comes with the good and bad. One of the most important things is motivating employees to want to do go and grow the production for the organization. If I were a leader in my organization I would change the way the incentives are done. I believe that they are a great way to reward employees with a job well done and lets the employees know that their hard work is appreciated. I would make it clear so that everyone will know how the incentives work and how they can earn one. Another thing that I may possibly change or add being able to recognize when employees need
