Julius Caesar was at the height of his reign when he was cruelly assassinated by Brutus and Cassius, who led a senatorial conspiracy to kill Caesar near the Statue of his Rival, Pompey. He was beloved by all, apart from those in higher society, thanks to his Clementia, and the reforms such as the settlements for the veterans, extension of citizenship to conquered people, just to name a few (week six seminar B). There were those who celebrated the death of Julius Caesar, where there were others who caused chaos because of the reading of his Will, naming Gaius Octavius his heir apparent. After Caesars death, Antony and Octavian fight for power. There is a battle of Mutina, where both Consuls Hirtius and Pansa that team up with Octavian to eliminate Antony. From the actions of killing Caesar, there came a total of three civil wars. The final civil war that was fought between Octavian and Antony and Cleopatra, which leads to Octavian’s assentation to become Emperor. After Caesar’s Death the world changed.
