Nitschke describes Kappa standards as being redefined by each member through the years in their lives as undergraduates and alumnae. Nitschke then suggested we refer to the promises we made as new members. In “I give my name and interest”, at that moment we become a representative of Kappa. Not only by wearing our letters, but our badge (key). By being a representative, a Kappa must know the rules and expectations of Standards. By pledging your interest you also pledge to attend every meeting, accept the jobs asked of you, and show interest for your sisters.
We also promise to avoid injuring the name of Kappa. By proudly representing Kappa, committing yourself, and contributing good values, you are a strong member. Nitschke expresses, “Kappa is honored by the actions and accomplishments of each individual and of course can be diminished by actions which
