DSM-IV Criteria for MDD:
Depressed mood or loss of interest and pleasure in daily activities for weeks. Mood represents a change from the person's baseline. at least 5 of these symptoms nearly every day:
1. Depressed mood most of the day
2. Lack of interest in doing most activities
3. Significant weight changes or changes in appetite
4. Insomnia or hypersomnia
5. Loss of energy
6. Feelings of worthlessness or guilty
7. Unable to concentrate in activities
8. Have the thought suicidal thought.
