This shows that countless amounts of people could be drinking contaminated bottled water and they wouldn’t even realize it in till it was too late. At that moment when a person is in the hospital or even dies from that contaminated bottled water that company is forced to pull all those bottled water off the shelves. This causes several of those companies to cut a loss into their profit. How tons non renewable resources are just being wasted just to bring in a simple profit. “It takes over 1.5 million barrels of oil to meet the demand of U.S. water bottle manufacturing. The amount of of oil far exceeds the amount needed to power 100,000 cars for a year, which does not include fossil fuel and emissions costs of greenhouse gases need to transport the final product to market” (“Bottled Water is Wasteful”). Especially since America is trying to cut down using non renewable resources, and greenhouse gas emissions. Yet, countless amounts of people don’t realize how much water is used package bottled water. “It is estimated that actually 3 liters of water are used to package 1 liter of bottled water” (“Bottled Water is Wasteful”). That is a lot of water not being used in the right way, especially how much of the U.S. uses bottled water, because of that various states are leading into water restrictions due to the carelessness of bottled water companies. That they are looking for another way to acquire a profit and not thinking about the long term consequences of their actions.
