Nuclear Energy vs. Renewable Energy
Is Nuclear energy the solution for our future or is it the catalyst to the end of it? In our modern world we rely on two types of energy to fuel our technology: Nuclear energy, and Renewable energy. Nuclear energy produces energy from atoms, there are two ways to produce energy: nuclear fusion and nuclear fission. In nuclear fusion, two atoms are fused together forming a larger one, and in the process heat energy is created. In the other hand, nuclear fission, is when an atom is split into smaller atoms, also releasing heat energy (this is the process which nuclear power plants use). Now, renewable energy uses a more natural way …show more content…
Furthermore, renewable energy is infinite, there is no such thing as “running out of wind” or “running out of sunlight”. There will always be these resources we can count on to provide our energy; we wont run out of them. But renewable energy often relies on the weather, solar panels need a clear sky to gather energy from the sunlight, hydro generators need rain to fill dams to power with flowing water, and wind turbines need wind to spin the blades. So when this resources are absent, there is no way for the machines to produce energy at their maximum capacity. This also brings up the issue that renewable energy its self cannot produce enough energy as burning fossil fuels do or even as much energy as nuclear power plants. Meaning that we either have to reduce the amount of energy, electricity we use in our daily lives or have to build more energy facilities, but if we were to resort into building more energy facilities, that would lead to taking over more space in the world, lands where animals live. At the end deforestation would be caused because of the demand of wood or metals, but because of the demand of …show more content…
Renewable energy is the solution for a bright, clean and green future. I could think of thousands of reason why renewable energy is the cleanest and safest way to produce energy, but I think I already made it clear. Keeping in mind that renewable energy wont produce enough energy is not something we should worry about. We live in an advance era, we will adapt to the low consumption of energy and electricity like if nothing has really changed. If we want our children’s children to be able run around green grass lands and swim in clean beaches, nuclear power plants should be closed down as soon as possible and more investments should be put into renewable
