Film gives a variety of opportunity and can last for 10 minutes in the filming process before having to get a new role. The film is developed overnight and printed. The next day the cast and crew would come together and take the time to watch the dallies. On the other hand, you have a digital camera that does not use film, but relies on an electronic sensor that has lots of pixels, converting it into digital data when there’s enough light hitting it. With digital camera’s instead of waiting for the next day to see the footage, one was able to see what they were recording and shooting in a monitor, thus making the process immediate. Unlike film which they had to constantly reload every 10 minutes, digital offered the opportunity to film for 40 minutes. Furthermore, the benefits of digital filmmaking allowed for the camera men to experiment with camera operations. In the movie 28 Days Later with actor Cillian Murphy the cinematographers were able to use 10 different cameras, as well as were able to stop traffic. Likewise, with the invention of the digital movie camera the cinematographer was able to run down the streets of India with kids in Slumdog Millionaire and capture their actions. In addition, the advancement of digital allowed for digital effects to be incorporated into the films as the editors realized that these effects could not be filmed but had to be created. Still the effects of going digital allowed for there to be a color balance in the films that the producers
