Couples that are married who practice a religion allows them to achieve overall marital happiness. Church attendance keeps a family together. Another impact of religion is divorce rates. For example, black Protestants or white Catholics, who have high church attendance rates, have shown to have low divorce rates. Therefore, when separation becomes an issue reconciliation is higher among regular church on-goers. When a marriage is failing and families are falling apart, families turn to their faith in their religion to help with their problems. They pray to their God looking for guidance in their marriage. This turns out to be successful for most families because they turn to God first in order to fix themselves. Many families have identified religion as an important contributing factor in the strength of their marriage and family. Christianity has many different branches and forms with a variety in beliefs and practices. The three major branches of Christianity are Roman Catholicism, Eastern Orthodoxy, and Protestantism. Christianity has an impact on the world today because it has changed many laws. Christianity shaped politics and gave laws that protect everyone under the law. These laws required justice among all people under the constitution. Another impact Christianity has on the world today is divorce is less than ten percent in America. When couples pray together, read the bible regularly, and attend church they keep the faith and hope alive among each other. In addition, the Red Cross and Y.M.C.A. were founded by Christian leaders. These leaders wanted to help communities across the world. The Y.M.C.A. is a program for young children to go after school for extracurricular activities and additional help with school. The Red Cross is a foundation that supports third world countries. They help in providing food for starving families and build schools for the poor so children can receive an education. These organizations has helped changed the world because many people feel like it is their obligation to help everyone in need.
