On national television, President Nixon defended his presidential term and his administration. The Watergate scandal may have been over but its effect could still be felt all across America. The revelations within the scandal shed light to some new concerns and apprehensions the American people had about their government. Rightly so, the scandal embarrassed and damaged the political and legal professions within Washington, and the effects of the Watergate scandal changed the way the American people perceived their country’s political and authoritative figures.
